These are trying times we have embarked on. We, at Statements in Tile & Lighting and Allbright & Lockwood, want you to know that the health and well being of our employees, clients, and other constituents is our top priority. We take no decision lightly. We consider the ramifications, both short and long term, for every decision we make.

Both of our stores will continue to operate as “normal” for the time being. With that said, we intend on making every effort possible to protect the health and safety of all those involved with our organizations. Beyond our efforts in keeping our showrooms and workspaces sanitized, we ask the following of our clients and vendors:

• If you have traveled or have been sick within the last two weeks, please do not visit our showrooms or warehouses. We can conduct business incredibly proficiently with the use of phone, email, websites, texting, etc. We ask that you allow us to use these tools to help move your project(s) forward.

• If you currently have samples of ours, please keep them through the end of this month. Unless we need them for control samples for your order, please hang on to them until the end of March. Again, we can conduct business incredibly proficiently with the use of phone, email, websites, texting, etc. We ask that you allow us to use these tools to help move your project(s) forward.

• If you need assistance with tile, lighting, or hardware, please let us do the preliminary meeting over the phone and with email. Once we have determined your needs, we can send you website links and photos of the product. We can select tile samples for you and have them ready for you to pick up at either showroom.

• If you need to pickup at the Jay Street or Montezuma warehouses, please call ahead AND call when you arrive and we will bring your order outside and help you load.

In summary, we have the unique ability to continue the vast majority of our work with minimal face to face contact and we plan to do so. Also, we apricate your understanding during this time. We must take every step possible to fight the virus itself, but also fight the adverse economic and social factors as well. Be kind and patient with each other.

An exciting announcement from the Statements family

To our loyal clientele,

As many of you already know, we (Lynsey and Chip Storm) “took over the reigns” at Statements almost two years ago. It has been wonderful getting to know all of you and we have truly enjoyed contributing to the design aspects of our city. With that in mind, we have some wonderful news!

We are excited to announce that the Statements family has acquired Allbright & Lockwood!

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Allbright & Lockwood, it is a long-standing Santa Fe company that focuses on lighting, fans, hardware, and tile. We are overjoyed to bring Statements and Allbright & Lockwood together, and look forward to creating the best possible customer experience for our local designers, contractors, and home-owners.

As part of the acquisition, Allbright & Lockwood will be moving to 322 Montezuma Ave. on November 18th, 2019. The location of Statements will remain unchanged.

Finding Inspiration at Coverings 2019

It’s been a busy few months over here at Statements. In addition to our new warehouse, which opened its doors earlier in May, we’ve been traveling around the country recently in search of fresh inspiration and products for our showroom.

We have some beautiful new products in store with brand new lines coming soon, and we can’t wait to show them to you. Until then, we wanted to tell you about the gorgeous tiles and trends we saw at Coverings 2019, a global tile and stone trade show hosted in New Orleans each year.

What is Coverings?

Coverings is the biggest event in North America when it comes to ceramic tile and natural stone. In other words, it’s like a giant playground for folks like us! It’s grown a lot over the last 30 years, and this year featured 1,100 exhibitors from 90 different countries: everywhere from Spain and Italy to Brazil, China, and Japan.

Our Favorite Takeaways

We saw many beautiful things at Coverings 2019, from striking geometric tile work to intricate stone pieces. There was something there for every taste, whether you’re a fan of vibrant colors or a pared-back, more classic look.

Our favorite thing at Coverings this year, though, was the tiled dog house collection in the Art Tile Courtyard. These dog houses were all decorated with hand-crafted tiles by TCNA (Tile Council of North America) members and were both adorable and highly creative.

We were also surprised to learn that Versace makes a porcelain tile line. We always seem to learn something new at these trade shows!

New Additions to our Showroom

Trade shows like Coverings always offer us a chance to see what new and interesting developments our vendors are coming out with. It was great to see their new lines up close, giving us the chance to bring some beautiful new additions to our showroom.

A long-time favorite of ours, a tile company from Silver City, NM, had some great new additions, shapes, color tones, and blends. Another popular marble tile manufacturer also had some new, cutting-edge offerings—no surprise, as they always seem to be at the forefront of the market. We’re sure you’re going to love them.

We met with several new brands at Coverings this year and are excited to say that we’re in the process of picking up some new vendors. We’ll be announcing those new products soon, so be sure to keep your eyes on this space and to stop by the Showroom!
